Ms Debra's Class - Toddler 2

Hello Families!

We have missed seeing all our friends in class and look forward to a time when we can all come back and see each other again.

During the month of June, we will be building literacy skills. We will spend time looking at different signs we see as we go places, such as Murphy’s steak house, Walgreens, and McDonalds. This will help us build awareness of symbols and their meanings. We will sing the name game and find rhymes for our names, paint with letter cookie cutters, and identify animals in books.

Some things you can do at home are to read to your child, including books with rhymes or poems. Show photos of family, friends, and nature, and have your child’s name written on their belongings around the house for them to see, such as on their cup, backpack, or even on their bedroom door.

You can also celebrate International Mud Day, too! June 29th is the day to remember, and if we haven’t been able to join together for Mud Day, you can still take part in the dirty immune building fun. Please visit the following link I found posted at https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/international-mud-day/ ---

“Every child should have mud pies, grasshoppers, water bugs, tadpoles, frogs, mud turtles, wild strawberries, acorns, chestnuts, trees to climb. Brooks to wade…bees, butterflies, various animals to pet, hayfields, pine-cones, rocks to toll, sand, snakes, and hornets; any child who has been deprived of these has been deprived of the best part of…education.”

-Luther Burbank

We hope you and your families are doing well and have been enjoying all your extra time together.

Hope to see you all soon!

Ms. Debra
