Message from Joanna
Dear Parents,
As we go into the month of June and slowly begin to step out of quarantine, I want to encourage you all to practice being present over perfect. While this is a common phrase, it most recently caught popularity from Shauna Niequist’s book, Present over Perfect: Leaving Behind Frantic for a Simpler, More Soulful Way of Living. While the season we are in has brought us new challenges, most have responded with an appreciation for the unhurried pace.
The people of this center are privileged to be a part of your life and the enrichment of your child’s development. In every encounter, whether it be a scheduled meeting, a conversation in passing, text, email, newsletter, or resource we provide, our intention is to champion you and provide encouragement. Parenting is not about perfection - “The ache for perfection from ourselves or our kids keeps us isolated and exhausted.” Being present in anything we do, especially parenting, will foster meaning, connection, and unconditional love.
All the best,
Joanna Lamadrid
