Ms Debra's Class - Toddler 2
Welcome to all of our new friends and families in Toddler Room 2. It has been a pleasure getting to know all of you. I would like to let you know a little about myself.
My name is Debra Sherrell. After I graduated from Copan High School in 2002, I went to Ozark Christian College where I earned a Bachelor of Christian Education with an emphasis in Daycare Administration in 2007. I spent the summer of 2006 in Mexico City as an intern at Niños de Mexico, a group children’s home.
I started working in child care in February of 2007, and I have worked with 1- 4 year olds in various child care settings. I also volunteered at my church, assisting and teaching children’s church, since I was in junior high. I have no children of my own, but I often watch my four nieces on Saturdays, ages 11, 8, 6, and 3.
During the month of March, our classroom will be working on helping our kids build social-emotional skills. We will focus on building relationships with adults and with each other. We will have several actives where we interact with others such as building together, sharing, taking turns, and reading together. We will also point out, discuss, and name emotions shown in the room and outside and read books about emotions.
We would appreciate if you could bring in any photos of family/friends for the kids to look at, allowing them to see and share important relationships in their lives while they are at school. If you would like, you may email them to me at dsherrell@delawarechild.org or Loni at lkaufmann@delawarechild.org
I look forward to getting better acquainted with you and your family!
Ms Debra
