The Director's Cut: Week of the Young Child!
Hello, Ivy Academy Families!
Can you believe it is already April? We have some exciting things happening this month! On April 12th -16th, we will celebrate the Week of the Young Child as we honor early learning as well as the children, teachers, and families we serve. The Week of the Young Child is a celebration held yearly that is sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the world’s largest early childhood education association. NAEYC started the Week of the Young Child 50 years ago with a purpose of focusing public attention on the needs of young children and to bring awareness to the various programs and services that meet those needs.
We take time to recognize and remind ourselves that the early childhood years lay the foundation for children’s success in school and later in life. Now more than ever, it is important for us to understand that it is our job as educators and parents to ensure that our children experience the type of environment that promotes early learning—whether it be at home, during the child care day, at school, or in the community. Be on the lookout for more information from your Family Service Coordinator regarding planned activities at Ivy Academy Owasso/Sperry to celebrate the Week of the Young Child.
We look forward to celebrating with you!
