Spring is Almost Here!

March’s themes are nutrition and reading. A great resource for nutrition is the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). This program reimburses child care centers and family child care homes for nutritious meals and snacks to children in care. They are providing meals to over 4.2 million children. Click on the link to get more information on CACFP and how to enroll.

Dr. Seuss Day is March 2nd, and this is celebrated in schools to encourage reading in children. Scholastic has some great ideas on how you can celebrate reading and Dr. Seuss on March 2nd.

We are still closely monitoring COVID-19 numbers and making hard decisions on when to start in-person trainings again. With many safety precautions, we will slowly ease into trainings. These safety precautions include enough room to socially distance, mandated masks, washing hands when entering training facility, and temperature checks.

Your R&R Specialists would like to remind everyone of free trainings on CECPD. Please go to okregistry.org to find the Statewide Calendar. This calendar has all available trainings in the state of Oklahoma. Find the drop-down tab labeled “Training Fee” to select "free" to find trainings that are free to attend. The Pyramid Model Modules are available for free and can be a total of 18 hours for training - simply search Pyramid Model on the calendar to find the link to sign up.

In addition to the Statewide Calendar, CECPD has an online training database - the link is cecpdonline.org. Disclaimer: your login and password are DIFFERENT than your registry login. You will need to create an account if you have not been on cecpdonline.org before. **ELGs are now available online at cecpdonline.org for the same price as in person. **
