Ms Tuyet's Class - Preschool 2

Springtime has finally arrived! With the warmer weather approaching, the children have been exploring the changing of our trees outside. In March, we discussed what a seed is and the process of how a seed grows. A fun activity that we did was planting grass seed. We talked about the steps we need to follow to plant our seeds. Each day the children will have the opportunity to water and take care of their plants. This will teach the children about responsibility and taking ownership of their hard work. Once the first parts of the grass start to grow, the children will have the opportunity to cut the grass using scissors.

We will continue our study on seeds and plants into the month of April. The children will see the progression of the stages a seed will go through. We will have the chance to plant various vegetables in our garden outside also. The children will also have the opportunity to decorate their own flower pot, and we will plant sunflower seeds in them. Gardening is such an important part of our lives, and the children love learning about how things grow. This gives an opportunity to share the process of taking care of the things that help to make us healthy.
