Ms Nikki's Class - Early Preschool

Dear Parents,

As you know, summer is quickly approaching. We will be outdoors a lot, having class outside. Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for the summer classroom.

Why is playing outside so important for children, you ask? Quite simply, we are born to play during periods of rapid brain growth and development. In fact, researchers have concluded that play seems to be the primary architect of the developing brain and is one of the signs of healthy children. Because of this, we will be taking the classroom outside to work on our large motor play and sensory play. A playful learning environment embraces a much larger view of the nature and content of learning.

We want to encourage all of you to also plan some outdoor time with your children as well. The natural world is a fantastic classroom!
