Ms Becky's Class - Toddler 3
Hello from the Toddler 3 Class!
We had an awesome time in April in Toddler 3. We started out the month by studying Pond Life. The children thoroughly enjoyed having duck pond, fish pond, and frog pond life represented in our sensory table. We even took a walk to the real pond located on our campus. The children were able to see the water and even observe a pair of geese.
Next, we focused on Caterpillars and Butterflies. The children seemed to be fascinated with how caterpillars transform into beautiful butterflies. We read Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar, which was definitely a class favorite. We had various sizes and shapes of caterpillars and butterflies in our sensory table, along with magnifying glasses to observe every detail.
We then turned our attention to Baby Animals. What child doesn't love baby animals? We read a book called Baby Animals that had baby animals represented from many groups including farm animals, forest animals, jungle animals, and more. We also had an exciting visit from some real animals including donkeys, a llama, and a goat right on our campus!
We rounded out the month with a study of rainbows. One of the things the children enjoyed most were the sensory bags, each with a different color of the rainbow. We had a wonderful April and look forward to what May brings.
