Ms Amanda's Class - Toddler 2

Parents,

The beginning of our new year has gotten off to a great start! We continue to learn and grow all the time. We are learning more words and are beginning to use those words more. We continue to work on identifying and labeling our emotions and the emotions of those around us. We also continue to learn how to handle our emotions. We are getting better at understanding when our friends are sad and have learned to use soft touches with them and to wish them well. We also are learning to ask our friends if they are okay. We all really enjoy working together to help make our friends happy again.

One of our favorite books right now is The Little Engine That Could. We enjoy pointing to and talking about the cool pictures in that book. Our favorite is the silly clown, the lollipops, and the ice cream. We also enjoy talking about which engines in the story are helpful and which ones are not. Our teachers have also been telling us when we are being helpful in the classroom. We really love being helpful!

For the month of February, we will be talking more about emotions, being kind, being helpful, and being loving to our friends. We will have a Valentine’s Day party on February 12th at 2:30pm. You are welcome to bring Valentine’s Day cards for your child’s friends if you would like, but it’s not required. Be on the lookout for a party sign-up sheet for our class.

We will also be experiencing many different types of messy sensory experiences. We will play with Oobleck (cornstarch and water), we will play with cloud dough (flour and baby oil), and we will play with play dough. So, expect us to get very messy this month!

Thank you all for allowing us the opportunity to help you care for your little ones. We are so blessed.
