Ms Amanda's Class—Toddler 1
Goodbye October, Hello November!
Wow! October seems to have flown us by! We had so much fun in our class doing Halloween activities! The children in our class really seemed to enjoy our fall sensory table. I added mini pumkins and gourds, cinnamon sticks, and fake fall leaves along with fall colored rice. We talked a lot about the textures of the items and colors. They like it so much that I think I will keep it for the coming month of November.
We also did several observational paintings of spooky characters like a jack o lantern, bats, and a vampire! I let the children paint with their hands, and they love to smear the paint everywhere! We loved all of our Halloween books, and I think our favorite book was Spooky Pookie by Sandra Boynton. We read that one quite a bit, and I highly recommend it for a book to read together at home.
For the month of November, we will be discussing fall, Thanksgiving, and giving thanks! We also will be painting with feathers this month, and maybe with some crunchy leaves we might find on the playground! I hope to also get the children to play dinner with me and pretend that we are having a huge thanksgiving feast! I also want to talk with my students about being thankful and happy for the things we have, and we will read some books that will hopefully explain the concept of being thankful.
We hope everyone has a wonderful month, and we will see you in December!
Ms. Amanda
