Ms Bailee, Ms Becca, & Ms Lydia's Class - Todder 1

Hello, Ivy Academy Families!

We in Toddler 1 are excited you allow us to work with your children every day, and we take great pride in doing so.

As you know, we spend a lot of time outside and will continue to do so throughout this summer heat. Daily we pay attention to the temperatures to make sure the children and teachers stay safe while outdoors. We keep them protected with sunscreen, clothing, and hydration throughout the day to support that outdoor time.

During our outdoor play, all ages of our children play and interact with each other. This engagement is very important to the overall development and learning experience as they are learning to engage with their younger and older peers. They are all learning from each other! The younger children are constantly observing the movements and actions of the older children, which grow their skills, and the older children are learning to care for their younger counterparts. The teachers work closely with the kiddos and talk them through interactions with each other to ensure a safe engagement experience for all.

In the class this month, we will be working on building new relationships with each other. These relationships include other teachers and children. We will be encouraging showing our feelings to one another through body language, facial expressions, and sign language. The children of Toddler 1 have been expressing an amazing understanding of sign language, and we are excited to continue their education of sign language. Ms. Bailee, Ms. Becca, and Ms. Lydia love watching the children learn that what they are saying with their hands will communicate to their friends and teachers. We will continue to encourage the use of sign language and teach the children more sign language daily. Parents can reinforce this learning by using sign language in the home. Below are some links to help you at home if you would like to begin supporting their continued growth of sign language.

Thank you for trusting us with your children.

Ms. Bailee, Ms. Becca, & Ms. Lydia
