Ms Ashley & Ms Chyanne's Class - Infants

For the month of October, we learned more language skills ranging from sign language to pointing when we need something.

For the month of November, we will continue to learn language. The first standard we will focus on is the younger infant ELG: Language standard 1, “demonstrate awareness of communication through listening and observing”. As for the older infants, the ELG we will focus on is, “demonstrating an increasing awareness of familiar books, signs, and symbols”. We will also be adding another ELG to our language: “Demonstrating and increasing ability to communicate”. By adding this ELG to our learning, the children will be able to learn to communicate better with adults and other children around them.

Since we will be working on our language, we will focus more on sign language with the children from simple words such as: more, all done, play, please, and thank you. We will read a lot of different books with the children and build with the alphabet blocks so they can become familiar with the letters and the sounds that they make. We will also sing a lot of different songs to help build the children’s language as well. We look forward to watching the children learn so many different things with language.

Sincerely,

Ms. Ashley
