Letter from the Director!
The Week of the Young Child™ is an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) celebrating early learning, young children, their teachers, and families.
Young children are the future of our communities, and there are many ways that we can come together for children. April 8th-12th is "Week of the Young Child™," a time when we can reach out in our communities to help work toward the guarantee that all young children thrive and learn in a society dedicated to ensuring they reach their full potential. Take some time to support early literacy initiatives, thank teachers who work with our children, and work toward public policies that benefit all young children!
This year at Delaware Child Development Downtown, we invite you to come enjoy the week with us! We will be enjoying music and movement in the classrooms all day on Monday. Tuesday we will make a tasty treat with the children. Wednesday we will be planting succulents with the children. Thursday we will be making classroom murals. Friday we will be celebrating the child’s family. Each activity will begin around 3 pm for each classroom. We are looking forward to spending this time with your child and each family. Ask your classroom teacher for more details.
Thank you,
Lisa Frye
