Welcome to our blog!
We hope you will enjoy reading about the adventures of our class as much as we like to share them with you. We have enjoyed the sweet smells of Spring, and now we are excited that Summer has finally arrived!
We will be celebrating the internationally recognized "Mud Day” on Friday, June 29th! We have been counting down the days, and now it’s time to put our imaginations to rest. Our book about Mud will be seen and heard often until the big day arrives. Mary Lyn Ray tells a phenomenal story about Mud and the day it comes to life. The author discusses four of our senses, shows awesome visuals, and enlightens learning. We are excited!
On Wednesday, June 6th, our class had the opportunity to visit Sunset Ranch in Ramona. The children learned so much through hiking and hands-on activities as the sound of curious voices echoed through the valley. The favorite activity was picking fresh vegetables from the garden, and it was a challenge to see who was going to collect the most fresh food! What a great time it was to see curious minds have the opportunity to witness some of their favorite vegetables growing! A huge thanks to all parents who attended and were able to come along on our quest to explore nature.
On Monday, June 11th, we attended a program at the Bartlesville Public Library to promote the week of OKM Festival. It was a fun time as we heard music, saw puppets, and learned what a ventriloquist was—Steve Cauthen was very entertaining. It was so much fun, and you could hear laughter throughout the building! I would like to thank our parents once again for taking time for us and coming along! We appreciate you!
For the month of July, we are studying about Sand, where it is most likely found, and what a Sand Dune is. These remarkable children are very eager to learn, and they love Sand! Be sure to ask them what sand is made from and what the name of the largest desert is!
We have also been discussing the Fourth of July and what it means. Of course, it's about family celebrations and fireworks! As the time comes closer, we will go more in depth about the independence of our country and continue practicing the Pledge of Allegiance. Stars are also a topic in our room at this time. This is not only to partially introduce our American flag, but it’s a great way to get the children involved about a popular shape! It has five points, it’s a shape on our flag, and anyone can be a star just by being themselves.
