March is Read Across America Month! Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!
Dear Parents,
March will be full of wonderful opportunities for our children! We will be focusing on literacy and reading with our families and children. Dr. Seuss events will also be happening in our classrooms, and we invite parents to participate by wearing stripes, Seussian attire, and hats March 19-29!
Literacy supports the development of multiple parts of your child’s brain. Literacy builds their understanding of their personal feelings and thoughts. Literacy also begins the bridge to connect with others verbally, and later in writing. In our classrooms, we offer children a variety of books, writing places, and spaces to have a strong foundation for the rest of their lives. Our books and equipment are selected and designed to support the unique people that all the children will become.
“Why fit in when you were born to stand out?” – Dr. Seuss
We look forward to reading with your family this month.
Also, Family Conferences are coming up. At the conference, we will discuss your child’s development and interests, and we will answer any questions you might have about curriculum. Please be sure to sign up for your child’s family conference time. Each segment is 15 minutes long and the appointments range from 6pm-8pm.
