Children receive nutritious meals and snacks that provide essential nutrients for healthy growth and development. Children who are well-nourished are sick less often, learn more effectively, and behave better.
Child Care Providers receive a reimbursement for the cost of meals and snacks that meet the Child Nutrition Guidelines. They also have the satisfaction of knowing they are helping children develop good eating habits for a lifetime.
Parents are comforted knowing the nutritious meals their children are eating will give them what they need to grow strong, do well in school, and help develop an awareness of the benefits of healthy eating.
There are 2 levels of reimbursement; Tier I and Tier II. To qualify to receive the higher rate we will look at several factors including your school district information, personal income and possibly the income of your child care families. Contact us and we will be happy to help you learn more about this process.

Hello, I am Tara Perez, Child Nutrition Specialist for Delaware Child Development at the Ponca City office. I am a graduate of Ponca City High School and attended Northern Oklahoma College for Business Administration. I have been a stay-at-home mom for the last year, and am excited to have the opportunity to work with parents and providers to better educate them on nutrition.
My previous work experience has been in office, clerical and accounting, as well as, substitute teaching for the Child Development Center. I have worked for The Ponca City News for the last 10 years. During that time, my work included lots of bookkeeping, customer relations, ad layout and design, and training of staff on individual basis.
I have served as a volunteer peer counselor for Birthchoice of Ponca City, which is a non-profit organization serving families in need of formula, diapers, clothing, etc. As a peer counselor, I helped educate and pray with women in crisis pregnancies. I am currently a member of Ponca City Charity Angels, which helps to raise funds for children with disabilities.
My husband, Vincent and I have been married for five years and have two beautiful boys, ages four and eight months. I enjoy spending time with my family, any outdoor activity, cooking and decorating.

I am a Child Nutrition Specialist for Delaware Child Development Nutrition Program. My responsibilities are to recruit and maintain family child care homes in Northeast Oklahoma for participation in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). This involves yearly contracting with the State Department of Education, compiling a monthly claim to the State, home monitoring visits, presenting provider training at least annually, technical assistance, complying with State and Federal guidelines and daily upkeep of files and paperwork.
I've worked for DCD since August of 2004 when I started as an Administrative Assistant. I took an 8 month maternity leave starting June of 2006 when my lovely daughter, Kennedy, was born. We are proud to announce the birth of our son, Jace, in June of 2008.
I run the infant nursery at our church in Vera, Oklahoma where my husband, James, is the Youth Pastor. I enjoy playing and snuggling with our children, reading mysteries and going to the movies.
Children are one of God's greatest gifts to us. Let us not forget how quickly the time will pass before they are having little gifts of their own - and what we've taught them along the way is about to be passed to another generation.
