Welcome to the Delaware Child Development Center located in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. I am the interim site director.
My credentials include a Masters and Bachelors degree in Elementary Education with 32 hours above my masters in School Administration. I was an elementary school principal for 18 years and taught various grades, including 5 years in Kindergarten before becoming an administrator.
I love to read and believe in developing early reading skills which are essential to children’s success in school. Equally important is developing a working relationship with parents to ensure that children reach their full potential.
Delaware Child Development Center is devoted to giving children a positive, caring, and safe environment which is advantageous to nurturing the whole child. If I can be of assistance, please know that I am here to help.

I am the lead teacher in the Infant one room. I have worked in the filed of early childhood since 2001. I enjoy being around children and watching them grow every day. My philosophy is that children learn through play. Through play, children learn about themselves and the world around them. Play allows children to gain an understanding about their environment and gives them the opportunity to practice the new skills that they have learned and gain self-confidence.
My goals is to obtain my bachelor’s degree and continue training, so that I can be the best teacher that I can and continue to make a difference one child at a time. I currently have my CDA (Child Development Associate).

I have been employed at the Delaware Child Development Center for seven years. I currently have a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential in infant and toddlers. I am also a member of the Center for Early Childhood Professional Development (CECPD).
One of the ways a child learns is by placing the child on his back on the floor. This allows the child too freely to move his hands and feet and this is important in helping the child in rolling over. Placing balls jar lids, and other simple toys in front and on the sides of the child will encourage him to reach for them. As the child is reaching or stretching for something use words to express what the child is doing. Also, a child loves to hear the sound of their name so we encourage the child frequently using their name.

I love working with the children as a Master Teacher in the Toddler 1 classroom.
I believe in promoting good self-esteem and a positive "can-do" attitude. My philosophy for children is that when a child is having fun, they are learning. My goal is to guide children so they can explore and learn in a fun and safe environment.
I have a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and enjoy taking additional classes to further my knowledge of Early Childhood Education.

I have been working with DCDC for a little over a year now. I received a Bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University in 2007 in Human Development and Family Sciences. I have worked with children for over seven years with three of those being in child care.
I believe that children learn from play. It is important for children to have many opportunities of self initiated play during the day. I have been married for 6 years now and have two little boys of my own, 3 and 2.

I have a Bachelor’s of Science in Education, graduating with academic honors. I have 25 years of teaching experience working with children who ranged in age from birth to young adults in their final year of high school. I have worked in: Oologah, Oklahoma High School, Tri-County Special Education of Independence, Ks and in Coffeyville, Independence, and Caney Public Schools as well as being a teacher and then Site Director for Head Start, and then a field operator for Parents As Teachers all in Kansas
.
After working for Parents As Teachers I had the opportunity to begin work for Washington County Child Care Foundation at the Caney facility. I worked there for five years mostly in the Pre-K classroom and that is where I found my greatest blessings....yes, in the Pre-K class. Pre-K children are open to all learning experiences, honest in what they say, difficult at times, challenging in teaching self-control and in how to get along with others, energetic and very loving. All qualities in children that endear them to me and make for non-boring teaching days as well as exciting ones.
In August I transferred from Caney to the Bartlesville Center.
On a more personal level, I want you to know I have a wonderful husband who is a cross country truck driver, based out of Nebraska. We live on a beautiful farm where we raise cattle and I train and keep several horses. We have the regular farm animals which sometimes visit the center in the spring during Week of the Child. We have two sons and a daughter whom are each married and we have seven living grandchildren.
