My name is Tracy Doss and I have been the director of the Delaware Child Development Center (DCDC) since 2004. I was the master teacher in the preschool prior to that. I have been in the field of Early Childhood Education since 1994. I am currently enrolled at Northwestern Oklahoma A&M College working on my associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I received my Child Development Associate’s (CDA) Credential in 2003; Oklahoma Certificate of Mastery in 2005 and my Oklahoma Directors Credential on 2006.
I am a member of the Hilton Early Head start Special Quest. As a member of Special Quest our teams’ vision is to be an active participant with providers to ensure that children with special needs receive the services they need and that their families receive the support they need.
As the director of the DCDC I feel that family involvement is very important, especially in a child’s early years. Children learn trust and security through the involvement of parents and family members. The staff and I recognize the importance of this type of involvement in meeting the DCDC mission which reads the staff is to provide quality child care while nurturing the whole child.
Welcoming families and making children feel secure is made possible by the wonderful staff at the DCDC who is committed to providing quality child care.

Marguerite Gammon, Infant 2 Teacher
Email Marguerite Gammon
My name is Marguerite Gammon. I have been employed at the Delaware Child Development Center for two years. I have a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential in infant and toddlers. Working in the Infant room as a Master Teacher is very challenging because they are beginning to realize what they can accomplish. The children enjoy the simple things in life such as a smile, hug and laughing. One of the ways I nurture the development of the whole child is by repeating the same thing over and over again. Also by setting down on the floor at their level that invites the child to come over and sit down in my lap to read a book or just to sit down. In 2004 I renewed my CDA Credential. I am also a member of the Center for Early Childhood Professional Development (CECPD).

I am the Toddler 2 teacher at the Delaware Child Development Center. I graduated high school in 2004 and moved to Oklahoma to further my education. I am currently attending college for Early Care Education at Tulsa Community College. I am planning to receive my Associates degree in the fall of 2009. After I receive my Associates I plan to begin work on my Bachelors. I love working with children and so I decided I might as well make it a career and do what I love.
I believe that children are the most important thing that we have today. They will one day be adults and what a privilege I have to help them learn and help mold them into who they are going to become. I work with children that range in age from 2 to 3 and at that age they learn so much. It is my philosophy that children can play and learn in a positive and safe environment. I feel that children learn best through play, and they get to experience new and different things. I think that I learn just as much from a child as they learn from me. I think that we need to cherish them because they don’t stay children forever.
