Nancy Hollandsworth, Infant Room Teacher
Email Nancy Hollandsworth
My name is Nancy Hollandsworth and I am the Master Teacher in the Infant room at the Caney Early Care and Education Center (CECEC). I was hired at CECEC in May 2006. Before I came to the center I was employed with Tri-county and worked in the Special needs room at the Community Elementary at Coffeyville.
I have an Associate of Arts degree from the Coffeyville Community College and continue to take classes in child development. The ages I care for are 1 year and under. I believe that stimulating the child by talking and laughing with them during feeding and diaper changes is an important part of nurturing a child in this age group. I also believe that promptly attending to the child’s needs in this age group is very important for the child’s care and development.
I have lived in Caney for 37 years with my husband Victor. We have four children: Vicki is a Registered Nurse and lives in Lenexa, Kansas with her husband, Charles, and five children; Emily is a paramedic finishing her classes to become a registered nurse, lives in Overland Park, Kansas with her little dog Jack; Sandra is an International School teacher and lives in Thailand; and
Vince is a welder and lives in Havana with his son, Blake, and daughter, BayLee.
Shirley Wilson, Infant Room Assistant Teacher
Email: Shirley Wilson
My name is Shirley Wilson. I have been working primarily as assistant part time teacher in Toddler 1 and Infant Rooms. I have worked for Caney Early Care and Education Center since October 2007.
My career began in nursing - I am a licensed Practical Nurse with about sixteen years experience in various capacities including seven years in a newborn nursery and postpartum care. Through the years I have taken classes in Early Childhood Education accruing 26 college credits and hoping to excel in this field.
Research has shown that the first three years of a child’s life are the most important. The foundations of their futures take place in the experiences of each day. They learn best in an atmosphere of security, acceptance, and caring. Their play becomes their 'work'.
I believe this is a most important work which will reap results in our families, towns, and nation.

I graduated with my Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Science with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education from Pittsburg State University in May 2002. I believe that children learn through hands on experiences with the daily routines of every day life. I also believe in integrating family lifestyles and cultural beliefs into the classroom for each child. We as educators can provide many fun and creative activities that the children can experience and grow.

Toni Davis, Child Care Center Cook
Email Toni Davis
My name is Toni Davis and I am the cook at the Caney Early Care and Education Center. I have 15 years experience of cooking for the public, and an Associates Degree in Dietary Management. I worked 5 years in the Bartlesville School District as a cook and a manager and 5 years as the Dietary Manager of a large Nursing Home.
I love to see the children explore, taste and learn about new foods; how food grows, what it looks like, smells like, and to finally taste it. I truly believe that we need to turn this generation back to home cooking and provide a balanced diet with lots of fresh fruits and fresh vegetables. I believe their health depends on it. I try to arm the children with the tools of good knowledge of proper nutrition with an introduction to a variety of foods with a special emphasis on natural fruits and vegetables, a diet low in fat, sugar and salt.
I believe that the children are our future!
I love to cook!! The biggest pleasure in my life is to see others enjoy the food I have prepared.
